XJ8501 flashing tape added to the butyl waterproof range
XIUJUN 8501 flashing tape is a self-adhesive butyl waterproof tape and membrane for sealing, flashing and leak repair in construction.
XJ8501 flashing tape is now part of the butyl waterproof range: a self-adhesive butyl rubber membrane on a release liner, supplied in rolls for sealing, flashing and leak repair.
Measured properties: density 1.33 ± 0.05 g/cm³, elongation 400%, recovery 70%, compressive strength 0.12 MPa, water vapour transmission 1.0 g/m²·24h, no cracking at −40 °C and good weathering after 2000 hours at 68 °C. Peel strength ranges from 12.2 N on aluminium to 16.6 N on cement.
Typical use is metal roofing and RV repair, window and door flashing, and laps between waterproof membranes. The tape is non-curing: it stays flexible instead of hardening, which is what allows it to follow movement between dissimilar materials.
