Paper-faced metal corner bead and trim
A galvanised steel, aluminium or Al-Zn profile laminated to joint paper, so the taped corner finishes flush and takes paint without a metal edge showing. Nine profiles cover the outside corner, the inside corner, the board edge and the bullnose, in 8, 9 and 10 ft lengths to ASTM C1047.
Paper-faced metal corner bead is a drywall trim made of a galvanised steel, aluminium or Al-Zn strip laminated to joint paper. The metal core holds the corner straight and absorbs impact; the paper wings bed into joint compound exactly as joint tape does, so the finished corner is flush with the board instead of sitting proud of it. XIUJUN makes the tape-on family to ASTM C1047: 90° outside corner in four wing widths (B1W, B1XW, B1XXW, B1 Super Wide), a low-nose micro bead, 90° inside corner (B2), L trim (B4), J trim (B9) and a 3/4" bullnose (SLOC), supplied in 8, 9 and 10 ft lengths.

Why paper-faced rather than nail-on bead
A nail-on or screw-on bead leaves a metal nose sitting a few millimetres proud of the wall, and the fasteners are a row of points where the paper face can telegraph through paint. A paper-faced bead is bedded in compound and taped over, so the profile disappears under the finish and the corner reads as a crisp edge of plaster rather than a strip of metal screwed to it.
The paper also does the cracking work. Compound bonds to paper, not to zinc, so the feather of the finishing coat keys into the facing instead of sitting on top of it. That is what keeps the edge line from shadowing after the wall has been through a heating season.
Which profile for which corner
- B1W — 90° outside corner, 3/4" legs, 13/16" wings. The default for residential work on 1/2" board.
- B1XW / B1XXW — extra-wide and extra-extra-wide wings for cut edges, double-layer board and repairs where the board line has wandered.
- B1 Super Wide / Micro Bead — 1-1/16" wings and a reduced nose height; in most cases this saves one coat of compound over a standard bead.
- B2 — true 90° inside corner, for the vertical and ceiling intersections where a taped corner alone keeps cracking.
- B4 — “L” trim where board abuts a suspended ceiling, beam, masonry wall, plaster or an untrimmed door and window jamb.
- B9 — “J” trim that wraps the rough edge of the board and closes it, so no cut gypsum shows.
- SLOC / TXJ-135 — 3/4" bullnose radius for 90° outside corners, and the 135° round version for splayed corners.

How a tape-on bead is fitted
- Cut to length with aviation snips, square to the profile — never with a saw that flattens the wings.
- Lay a generous bed of joint compound along both sides of the corner, slightly wider than the wings.
- Press the bead into the compound, align the nose with a straight edge, and wipe the excess back over the wings with the taping knife.
- Let the bed coat dry, then apply the first finish coat feathered 2" beyond the wing, and a second coat 6"–10" wide on each side of the corner.
- Sand lightly when dry. The wide steel wings act as the straight edge, so the corner stays true through both coats.
Cartons, pallets and loading
Outside-corner profiles ship 25, 50 or 100 pieces to the carton depending on length and wing width; J trim packs 50 or 100 pieces with 54 cartons to the pallet. Cartons are printed to your artwork or left neutral. Container loading is worked out from the profile height and the mix of styles, and a loading plan is issued with the quotation.

Specification questions
What is the difference between paper-faced corner bead and metal corner bead?
Metal corner bead is fixed with nails, screws or a clinch-on tool and leaves a metal nose at the corner. Paper-faced bead is bedded in joint compound and taped over, so the corner finishes flush and paints like the wall. It also removes the row of fasteners that can telegraph through the finish.
Does the B1 series fit any wallboard thickness?
Yes. The 90° outside-corner series is made for use on any thickness of wallboard, which is why it is quoted without a board thickness. For cut edges and double-layer work, step up to the extra-wide B1XW or B1XXW wings.
What does ASTM C1047 cover?
ASTM C1047 is the specification for accessories for gypsum wallboard — bead, trim and the like. It fixes dimensions and tolerances, coating and straightness, so a bead bought against it will line up with the board and the compound the same way every time.
Which profile replaces a bullnose corner?
SLOC, the 3/4" bullnose outside corner, tape-on. It creates the rounded corner without a separate radius bead, and TXJ-135 does the same job on a 135° splayed corner.
Can the carton carry our brand?
Yes. Cartons are printed to your artwork, or supplied neutral with no XIUJUN mark, on the same production run. Send the artwork with the order and a proof comes back before printing.
